Hello everybody! Today I thought I’d share my nail care routine with you. It’s very simple but takes a while so this is nothing you do in a hurry… I hope you like it!
Step 1:
I start with cutting and filing my nails to the length and shape I want. I like natural looking nails, not too long and no crazy shape. Right now my nails are shorter than normally so when I have them longer I also try to have a more round-shaped tip. I believe that is the most flattering shape to elongate the fingers. When I’m done with cutting and filing I put 1-2 drops of my Depend avocado oil and massage it in to the cuticles to soften them up. I leave the oil on the nails and cuticles for as long as possible before I take the tool on the picture and use the mint rubber part to push the cuticles down. If you have dirt or so under your nails you can use the other side of this tool to easily take it away (I don’t know what to call this nail tool but I mean the long plastic one with a mint green tip). After letting the skin around the nail absorb the oil, wash the excess oil off so your nail is completely clean.
Step 2:
To create a smooth surface on the nail, I use this 3-step system from LOOK by Bipa. These nail files are only used on the surface and since so, they make the nails slightly thinner so you should not do this more than every 2-4 weeks. The first file is making the nail even, second one preparing for next step and third giving shine. When you’re done with these three steps it looks like you have a super thin and shiny top coat on so if you don’t feel like wearing a nail polish this might be enough for you.
Step 3:
The last step is to paint your nails. I chose this Sally Hansen miracle gel polish in the colour “250 throwing shade”. I purchased this nail polish recently and it’s soo beautiful and last forever on the nails. I painted my nails three days ago but they look like new. There is a top coat that you should use with the miracle gel-polishes but I honestly don’t think you need it. It’s lasting so good without it! I used two coats of this light pink polish for a full coverage, which I also think is impressive for such a light colour. I’m totally in love with this dusty pink! What do you think?
PS. The nail file, the nail tool for the cuticles and 3-step nail files all come in one set and you can find it at Bipa (for the ones of you who live in Austria/Germany). Ds.
